Art Walk

Visit 20 exhibition and performance locations in The Loop on Friday, October 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. All exhibits and performances are free of charge. Reception: Friday,October 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. Most exhibits continue: Saturday, October 6 from Noon to 6 p.m.

    7:00 pm - Kill Fashion Collective presents "Moda Moda" - a designer showcase featuring Miriam Coffey of Designers Ready to Wear. The Kill Fashion Collective is a coalition of cutting-edge designers whose work shares a commonality in its innovation by ripping apart current fashion constructs in presentation and construction.
    8:00 pm - Spoken Word with Mama Blue - (aka: Zaire Imani) has been a powerful feminine force that has riveted audiences nationwide for the past 7 years. Zaire has been the St. Louis Grand SLAM champion & a St. Louis SLAM team member for the past 6 consecutive years. She ranked 6th in the nation at the 2001 National Poetry SLAM in Seattle and opened for The Roots during the OK Player Tour. Zaire has also opened for spoken word/hip hop artists Gil Scott-Herron and Bahamadia.

  14. Plowsharing Crafts - "World Crafts" - Acoustic Music - Tommie Halloran - guitar. Refreshments provided.

  15. The Gallery at Regional Arts Commission - “Material Attitudes: Defying Textile's Stereotypes” - Curated by Jane Birdsall Lander. Artists - Sarah Colby, Hannah Reeves, Patti Shanks, Amber Slater-Raymond, Lee Suarez, Valerie Wedel and Cayce Zavaglia. Part of biennial Innovations in Textiles 7. Open on Friday evening only.

Parking is available on municipal lots, in the garage across from the Tivoli Theatre, and on Delmar and the side streets.
